Armin Rangani is an artist and animation filmmaker based in New York. With a BA in Architecture from the University of Tehran and an MA in Animation from Arts University Bournemouth, his work spans painting, sculpture, and animation. His multidisciplinary practice explores the tensions between tradition and modernity, structure and fluidity, and rootedness and displacement.

His recent animated short film, "Mother Clay", had its international premiere at the 2025 Annecy Animation Film Festival. He is a recipient of the 2026 Annecy Animation Festival Residency and the 2027 NEF Animation Residency, and was an artist-in-residence at Yaddo in 2025. He served as juror for the 2025 Society of Illustrators Student Scholarship Competition.

In addition to his independent practice, he has worked as art director, animator and concept artist on films, animations, and video games, such as his recent collaboration "Asheghetam" short film, which won the Youth Jury Award at the 79th Locarno Film Festival.
